  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (plus more for topping)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • Dash of ground nutmeg

Place the butter in a large bowl. If you'd like, slice the butter so it's easier to mix.

With a hand mixer, beat the butter until soft and smooth, pausing occasionally to scrape down the sides and whisk attachments. (The butter will clump up in the whisks at first, but it will get easier to mix as you whip it.)
